Dukette is a 2-year-old tan Shepherd mix weighing about 55 pounds who is currently in a foster home. She is fully potty trained and keeps a consistent routine.

She tends to be a bit of a night owl and prefers to eat in the evening. Dukette enjoys window watching and is naturally curious, always aware of what’s going on around her. She does not like crates or dog beds and instead prefers to settle into a quiet, secluded corner where she feels most comfortable.

Dukette can be cautious around new people, unfamiliar sounds, and busy environments. When she feels unsure, she will retreat to a trusted person for reassurance. Once she builds trust, she becomes affectionate and will happily offer her belly.

She does well on car rides once she’s in the vehicle, though she is nervous about getting in.

We are currently unsure how Dukette does with kids, cats, or other dogs. If you have a dog at home, a meet and greet is required prior to adoption.

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
