Meet Meringue — a little confection of a cat with just the right balance of sugar and spice.

This lovely 3-year-old, spayed, and medically up-to-date girl may look like a soft meringue topping, but she’s more like a delicate pastry: best enjoyed slowly and gently.

Meringue is declawed and considered special needs because she requires daily pain medication to stay comfortable — but she’s an absolute pro at taking her meds, making it as easy as pie.

She’s a classic introvert, happiest when napping in quiet, cozy corners. Meringue is cuddly on her own terms and enjoys affection, but like many delicate desserts, she can get a little overstimulated if things get too overwhelming. A calm, understanding human who can read her signals will be her perfect match.

Meringue does not get along with kids or other cats, so she’s looking to be your one and only sweet treat — no sharing required.

If your dream companion is a cozy nap buddy with a little extra frosting on top, Meringue just might be your purrfect dessert.

Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!
DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!!

Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.

We highly recommend calling or e-mailing ahead for adoptions and services to ensure that the animal you're interested in adopting is available and at the shelter. Many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes off site.

We are a limited admission shelter. You must call/e-mail in advance to set up an owner surrender to ensure we have intake space to provide appropriate care.
